"On the Wednesdays evening was a concert given by the solo cellist Gunnar Malmquist
of the Umeå Symphonics in Tegs church. In the program, there were compositions by Chopin,
Boccherini, Beethoven and Schubert. The concert started with Luigi Boccherini´s
emotional and melodically A major sonata for cello and piano and the audience was
immediately charmed the wonderful smooth and nice cello sound of which carries
much of his brilliant finger technique. Gunnar Malmquist owns a real nature of
art with the music not only in his fingers but also deep in his soul. Do not
miss my good friends to enjoy his art as long as we still have him with us."

LONELY CELLO
"Gunnar Malmquist was performing the third of J.S. Bachs six suits for
solo cello, all of them probably composed in 1720. This is a question of music,
which demands a far driven technique, a high developed sense of style and configuration
by the executor. Those qualifications Gunnar Malmquist is in a position of. With big
cleverness, he performed in many sequences the polyphones movements, specially in the
dance movements, the sutile Saraband both the lovely Bourées and finally the vivant
