Lake Skalka

Radiograph of the upper part of the laminated core 1021 from a depth (during coring) of 7.5 m in Lake Skalka. The curve showing the downcore variation in dry bulk density is based on recorded film-density values along the centerline of the radiograph.

For the core depth 0 - 10 cm the mean value of the wet and dry bulk density amounted to 1.36 and 0.561 respectively, the mean value of the water content to 59 % of the wet weight, and the mean value of the organic content to 6.3 % (determined as the loss on ignition).
