Guövik Bay

This bay of the Baltic Sea is located east of the town of Karlshamn in Blekinge, southern Sweden.

One of sex sediment cores sampled at depths between 1 and 5 m in this shallow bay on 18 July 1983. For the upper 0.1 m of this core the mean value of the water content amounted to 85 % of the wet weight, the mean wet and dry bulk density to 1.10 and 0.16 (salt-free) respectively, and the mean loss on ignition to 20.0 %. The salinity of the bottom water in the coring tube was 7.3 per mil.
