Bornholm Basin

Radiographs of the uppermost part of cores BB1 and BB from a depth of 89m (station no. 167S, secondary station) and 90 m (station no. 167, primary station) respectively in the Bornholm Basin.
Most of the deposits in these cores are reworked due to bioturbation. However, some less distorted, faintly marked, horizontal layers are visible in the topmost part of the cores. The concentration of small aggregates, probably of pyrite, is rather high at some levels further down in these cores. There is a rather rapid increase in sediment density at a core depth of 25-26 cm in core BB1 and at a core depth of 27-28 cm in core BB.

Radiograph of the area with a rather rapid increase in sediment density in the lower part of core BB.

Downcore variations in content of solids in sediment core BB.
