The relationship between void ratio, water content, and bulk density, exemplified by some corresponding values in the table above, was used to calculate probable void-ratio values. The given values of organic content as a density-related parameter in the table are uncertain, and should only be regarded as median values for the correlation of water content to organic content in the 785 analysed sub-samples.
