Fårö Deep

Partly overlapping radiographs of the upper part of core FD1 (the uppermost part in stereo) from a depth of 183 m in the Fårö Deep (station no. 176).

This core is laminated both at the top and at a core depth of about 25 - 30 cm. Below the upper, laminated part there is a rather dense network of burrows and tubes, and a concentration of aggregates. The sedimentary sequence in the uppermost part of this core resembles the sequence in the uppermost part of cores LA and LL1 from the Landsort Area and the Northern Baltic Proper respectively.
