Cores from Gullmarsfjorden

This fjord is 29 km long, the sill depth 42 m, and the maximum depth 125 m.

Stereoradiographs of bioturbation structures in the upper part of sediment cores 1286 and 1287 from a depth of 117 and 111 m respectively in Gullmarsfjorden. Date of coring: 1988-07-17.

When studying the stereoradiographs, You should start with your nose close to the monitor, then pull your face slowly away from it, and look through the image. In order to take these stereoradiographs, the coring tube and its holder were moved 62 mm horizontally at a film-to-focus distance of 1.0 m.

For the upper 0.3 m of these bioturbated sediment cores the mean value of the wet bulk density amounted to 1.3.
