| Unfortunately
there aren't that much film footage available from this tour. Here is
a list of all known recordings and if you know of anything not listed
here please get in touch. Thanks to Robert Dwyer at www.sabbathlive.com
for the comments about each video and for helping me with this list.
August 21. Helsinki Icehall (Helsinki Jaahalli) Helsinki, Finland (Set List from 8MM audience film) Children Of The Grave (end of the song) Hot Line (end of the song) War Pigs (part in the middle missing) Born Again (part in the middle missing & cut's) Comments by Robert Dwyer: There is a very short and fragmentary audience film circulating, but the camera work is rather unsteady. Comments by Tapani Lehikoinen: Click on the link to read his comments and to see some stills from the video >>> October. MuchMusic, TV Interview, Canada Comments taken from Jarkko Aaltonen's site: "Short clip with Ian Gillan interview. Also some footage from Mecca Arena, Milwaukee 1980 after the audience tore the place apart. Some discussion about the violence during the Sabbath -shows. Geezer is actually present as well, but doesn't say a word." October 21. Montreal Forum, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Supertzar Children Of The Grave Hot Line War Pigs Disturbing The Priest Supernaut Bev Bevans Drum Solo Rock N Roll Doctor Iron Man Zero The Hero Heaven And Hell Tony Iommis Guitar Solo Digital Bitch Black Sabbath Smoke On The Water Paranoid Comments by Robert Dwyer: This is the only known complete video from the Born Again tour. The footage was shot by director Lyndsey Clennell for use in the promo videos for "Trashed" and "Zero The Hero". The film that is currently in circulation was done from the back of the Forum and looks more like an audience film than a pro-shot. I believe that this footage was meant to provide the audience perspective for the live shots and was meant to be edited down into short clips anyhow. But
what about the close-up's in the "Trashed" and "Zero
The Hero" video? My (Rob's) thought is that this footage is a combination
of several different films. One could have been done during a soundcheck,
while others scenes could have been filmed at the show. You can do a
lot of tricky stuff with editing! Keep in mind also there is currently
no known live recordings of "Trashed" and it definitely wasn't
performed at the Montreal '83 show. So, it wasn't really as important
to use edits and trickery for "Zero The Hero", since it was
a song they performed that night. If anyone has the complete "Trashed"
video, take a hard look at it and let me know what you think. |
