UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) Satan, what a genuine punkblast! Avesta's punkveterans UNCURBED have on only four days in Studio Abyss pounded in one of the cheekiest and angriest punkalbum I have heard in my whole life. The titletrack gets me almost to fall out of the couch by excitement. Then continues the superswingy punkattack with partyhits like "Blow The System", "Reality Escape", "Man Overboard" and "Moments Of Anarchy", just to name some of the pearls. UNCURBED plays as hard as Lemmy booze! In fact the Dalecarliasextet reminds some parts of Motörhead, when Lemmy and his fellows are on their punkiest humour. "We are the punks on parole - rocking on - for you". We really thanks for that. /Jonas Granvik - METAL WIRE #9 UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP [In swedish] (Pollute 065) Satan, vilket genuint punkös! Avestas punkveteraner UNCURBED har på bara fyra dagar i Studio Abyss lyckats hamrat in ett av de fräckaste och argaste punkalbum jag hört i hela mitt liv. Titellåten får mig nästan att trilla ur soffan av upphetsning. Sedan fortsätter den supersvängiga punkattacken med partyhits som "Blow The System", "Reality Escape", "Man Overboard" och "Moments Of Anarchy", bara för att nämna några av pärlorna. UNCURBED lirar lika hårt som Lemmy super! Faktiskt påminner Dalasextetten en del om Motörhead, när Lemmy och hans mannar är på sitt punkigaste humör. "We are the punks on parole - rocking on - for you". This album fucking rules! /DISTORT OHIO RECORDS UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP [In swedish] (Pollute 065) Jaaaaaa, rens, mölj, krunch, attack, slakt, grind, crust, råpunk. Uncurbed vet hur man vevar och Avestabrukets kolvpumpar sprängs i bitar. Hippieshit peaceloving potsmoking anarchydevils on the march... Inte ett huve är odivat när benknotorna knäcks till Uncurbeds toner. All rebel sisters, make uproar tonight, smoke that uncurbed pipe and kill the government. Jag är med er till sista dunken. Bara ni lägger ned metalsolona. Underground Heroes är en lysande text och samplingarna är så coola. Peace, punk, life the party goes on, Uncurbed masturberar, don't you fucking die. /Inge Ansvar - CHAOS IS KING UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) Flawless track record. Raging and crunchy hardcore that hits you dead in the chest. Could tear through steel if you play it loud enough. /Matt Average - SOME STRANGE MUSIC UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) 16 new anthems of punishing Swedish hardcore punk, bombarding sound. UNCURBED's 3rd LP/CD on Sound Pollution, and if you heard the other two you know what you are in for. Consistently one of the greatest bands on the planet. It is difficult to put into words how hard this band rocks, if you haven't discovered their greatness yet, get your head out of your arse and hear what you have been missing. /Ken Pollute - SOUND POLLUTION UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) What can you say about a band that has released as many great records as UNCURBED? Think if POISON IDEA, MOTORHEAD, and DISCHARGE lived in Sweden then crank up the intensity and you'll start to get a clue. A band that actually lives up to their hype. 16 new songs that hammer from the first note till the last. Punks On Parole has UNCURBED heading a bit more into '77 style punk dishing it out in pure UNCURBED spirit. As usual with UNCURBED the recording is total devastation. Top notch sound again from Studio Abyss where peacelovepunklife was also recorded. If you don't buy this record you better be dead or in jail, and if your in jail, break out! *Rocks harder than 99.9% of the records you have heard. /MORDAM RECORDS UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) The Swedish party punx are back to swill booze, pillage on the high seas, and lay down some fucking serious ass kicking hardcore that calls upon the ancient masters Poison Idea for nearly divine alcohol-soaked inspiration. Sixteen tracks of relentless and fist-pounding Swedish punk with some of the craziest lyrics ever! The perfect soundtrack for your next party after a day of smashing the shit out of some nazis! If you're not down with the party punxs, please turn in your record collection now. /MAXIMUM ROCK'N'ROLL UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) Hold your hat, cap or the mohikan! El Niño is a breath. Etna's eruption a fart. I am completely speechless. With no doubt have the punk platoon from Dalarna mangled through the years, certainly have they all the time developed. But that they should be capable to record a whole album that blows you off the chair, where you in almost thirty minutes sit like a shabby Discharge-poster on the wall and gasps for air... I absolutely didn't thought that. UNCURBED have pressed down all their love, all their hate and all their frustrations on a plastic piece who will explode at the slightest touch. If you imagine WOLFPACK, SKITSYSTEM, ANTI-CIMEX, DISFEAR, DISCHARGE, SLIGHT SLAPPERS, HELLNATION and BENÜMB - at the same time, on the same stage - you are halfway. At last - a tip. Don't bring "Punks On Parole" on your flight, the risk is impending that you will be arrested and placed in the Guantánamo-camp on Cuba. Talk about explosive force. /Mikael Sörling - CLOSE-UP MAG UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP [In swedish] (Pollute 065) Håll I hatten, kepsen eller mohikanen! El Niño är en vindpust. Etnas utbrott en fjärt. Jag är fullkomligt mållös. Visst har punkplutonen från Dalarna genom åren rensat friskt, visst har de hela tiden utvecklats. Men att de skulle förmå sig att spela in en hel platta som blåser en av stolen, där man i drygt trettio minuter sitter som en sliten Dischargeplansch på väggen och kippar efter luft... Det trodde jag absolut inte. UNCURBED har pressat ner all sin kärlek, allt sitt hat och alla sina frustrationer på en plastbit som exploderar vid minsta beröring. Om du tänker WOLFPACK, SKITSYSTEM, ANTI-CIMEX, DISFEAR, DISCHARGE, SLIGHT SLAPPERS, HELLNATION och BENÜMB - samtidigt, på samma scen - är du halvvägs. Till sist - ett tips. Ta inte med "Punks On Parole" på utlandsflygningen, risken är överhängande att du omhändertas och placeras i Guantánamolägret på Kuba. Snacka om sprängkraft. /Mikael Sörling - CLOSE-UP MAG UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) You have to marvel at UNCURBED's consistency. It's not only that they maintain their quality album after album, it's that they manage to outdo themselves each time. Punks on Parole is no exception, this is hands down my favorite UNCURBED album yet. They are faster and more pummeling than ever. The music is so think and driving that you've gotta hear it to believe it. UNCURBED is the MOTORHEAD of hardcore. Listening to this album is like taking a blowtorch directly to your brain. The flawless production is so loud, crisp and in-your-face that it sounds like a big-budget job comparable to what a major label could do although no major would touch this with a ten-foot pole. A candidate for album of the year and it's only January! /Jeb Branin - IN MUSIC WE TRUST UNCURBED - Punks On Parole CD/LP (Pollute 065) Yet more intense and powerful Discharge influenced Crust Punk Metal from the brutal Swedish noisemongers. Evoking bands like Extreme Noise Terror and Genocide SS or a pure Crust version of Nasum they thunder and yell their way through 16 brief but impacting slabs of fast dual vocalled mayhem, reminding you that Discharge were actually never this heavy. /ALICE RECORDS UK UNCURBED - Keeps The Banner High CD/LP (Pollute 053) How have I missed this band in the past? I ought to be taken out and shot! Well, maybe not... having to live with the knowledge that I have been depriving myself of something this amazing is punishment enough. UNCURBED are absolutely mind blowing! They spew a dual vox thrash that has the thickness Swedish hardcore is famed for plus an unbridled ferocity that makes most of their peers sound like little old ladies singing hymns in church on Sunday. Governments all over the world are exploring the possibility of using UNCURBED's music as a weapon of mass destruction, the only catch is that it is so much more deadly than mere nuclear and chemical arms that a way to contain its devastating power has yet to be discovered. It is only April but this is easily the frontrunner for album of the year. Hell, it is only 2000 but album of the millennium is a very real possibility. You may think I am overstating my case, but that is only because you haven't heard this yet! /Jeb Branin - IN MUSIC WE TRUST UNCURBED - Keeps The Banner High CD/LP (Pollute 053) Some will call it hardcore or crust or metalcore but actually this is a true punkrock record. It's probably their best so far. It's a bit a mix between Discharge and Motorhead. This is brilliant stuff. Every punk should have this Cd/record in his collection. One word: Beautiful!! /Uncle Punk UNCURBED - Keeps The Banner High CD/LP (Pollute 053) The kings of punk return! 16 new tracks, 20 on the CD of hammering HC punk the way Sweden's drinkers do it best. These veterans know how to fucking rock! Pummeling recording by Mieszko of Krigshot/Nasum fame. Easily one of the best bands on the planet. "Uncurbed are absolutely mindblowing!... It is only April but this is easily the frontrunner for album of the year" /Ken Pollute - SOUND POLLUTION UNCURBED - Keeps The Banner High CD/LP (Pollute 053) Uncurbed are a archetypical Swedish anarcho punk band... just like Wolfpack. They play what most zine reviewers would simplify as "raging' Dis-core punk". So expect the twenty songs to fly by at breakneck speed leaving just the stench of anger in the air. But try listening to this a bit more seriously and you'll find that Uncurbed have some great melodies underneath all the chaos which would set any mosh pit on fire without boring the fans with a monotonous barrage. Of course, Uncurbed are about a call to arms so just go with the flow. /GREEN HELL RECORDS.de (7 of 10) UNCURBED - Peace.Love.Punk.Life... CD (Pollute 045) The best punk record of 1998! 16 tracks of some of the most fierce Swedish HC ever! Motorhead meets E.N.T. meets Sweden. Punk as fuck doesn't even begin with it. Their best yet... this will floor you. "This is fucking great" /Maximum Rock'n'Roll "Uncurbed are awesome" /Heartattack /Ken Pollute - SOUND POLLUTION UNCURBED - Peace.Love.Punk.Life... CD (Pollute 045) Having never heard of this band before, here's why I bought it... Song titles like: Liberation Hippies, Anarchy And Peace, System Stinx. I assumed this would be a peace punk band. Boy was I wrong. The first time I listened to this band they reminded me a LOT of Fleas And Lice (and other bands in that genre), excelt Uncurbed has dual male screaming vocals. Along with the 3 songs I mentioned above, there are 13 other ones. I'm sure people know what Fleas And Lice sound like (in case you don't they're a crust band who sound a lot like Nausea, Masskontroll, Antischism) so buy this CD! /M-8 - (9 of 10) UNCURBED - Peace.Love.Punk.Life... CD (Pollute 045) Although this album is a couple of years old I only recently discovered it and simply had to bring it to your attention. Swedish crusty thrashers UNCURBED are rapidly becoming one of my favourite bands and this album is a perfect example of why. They play hardcore thrash the way it was meant to be played... driving, fast, thick, raw and uncivilized. They are a band that has one foot in the past as they draw upon the stylistic lessons taught by bands like LÄRM and DISCHARGE and one foot in the present as they forge a contemporary hyper violent sound. They are also a band that has a bright future because as the current popularity of extreme hardcore begins to ebb it is bands with a truly impressive and quintessential sound like UNCURBED that will survive. /Jeb Branin - CRASS MENAGERIE UNCURBED - Peace.Love.Punk.Life... CD (Pollute 045) This record tops my list of "best record of 1998". This is really not just the best record of 1998, but an actual onefide classic. I can't stop listening to this. MOTORHEAD runs head first into "Phonophobia"-era EXTREME NOISE TERROR in a Swedish recording studio. Fuckin' awesome! I have heard other records by UNCURBED, but this is easily their best. Double glass eatting vocals, heavy riffs, and tons of rocked-out leads and hooks. This is just the right mix of rock'n'roll and thunder storm. Don't let those naked hippies on the cover scare you away from buying this... It's not more balls and anger than any LP from the last few years with skulls on the cover. Fast, thrashing, and punk as fuck. Buy this and go deaf! /Dr. Apeform UNCURBED - Peace.Love.Punk.Life... CD (Pollute 045) Hadn't heard UNCURBED since the "A Nightmare In Daylight" CD, so I asked for this one to review, and I got it. Lucky me. It's always fun to get a record for free, and if it's a record that you after you've listened to it, realises that you didn't wanna miss really since it's a real nice one, but in a way UNCURBED is not that great. It's real intense hardcorepunkrock the way I like it, but the songs are to alike. I mean, if you already have a couple of records, you really don't need another one just to hear how they sound nowadays, 'cause they haven't changed that much. But if you don't have an UNCURBED record you're a loser! They're great, but you (at least not me) can't listen to may times ia row 'cause the songs will get spoiled. But hey, they're aggressive and kicks ass!! So get something with them NOW! /Unknown UNCURBED - Peace.Love.Punk.Life... CD (Pollute 045) Longtime Swedish punks fifth full length and best yet! Punishing Swedish HC with dual vocals (one was the singer for ASOCIAL) and a heavy production. UNCURBED has been playing their style of Swedish HC for some time; you can hear some EXTREME NOISE TERROR and a little MOTORHEAD. /BEER CITY RECORDS UNCURBED - Peace.Love.Punk.Life... CD [In swedish] (Pollute 045) Snart är det 10 år som Dalarnas kungar av crustcore har vevat på i bästa ångvältstempo. På denna skiva låter de som ett skinnflått Discharge på speed. Skönt att de varierar med två sångare som delar på helvetesvrålen som dock kunde vart lite högre mixade. "Class war rules, down our streets, poor against rich, the same old shit"/System Stinx. "I dont care about your rules, I'll make my own, if I need them"/If I need..I make! och 14 andra manglare med härligt sköna texter. Lite väl mycket brainmetal-solon, hippieshit- och gräs-glorifiering för min del, men det det kan kvitta när man korkar upp en Kir. Uncurbed - pot is a reality kick. Som MRR skrev: Det här golvar dig. En skottsäker tryckvåg som blåser resten av banden av scen! Uncurbed har spelat in en ny skiva som skall heta "Keeps The Banner High" som ska komma senare i år. CD [In german] (Pollute 045) Das problem so vieler DIS- und Crustbands ist zum einen, dass oftmals die aufnahmequalität nicht die beste ist, und zum anderen, dass nur gekloppt und geschrien wird, ohne das songwriting und den Rock'n'roll im hinterkopf zu behalten. Auf die Schweden UNCURBED, deren fünftes album "Peacelovepunklife" ist, trifft weder das eine noch das andere zu: mit einer an MOTÖRHEAD erinnernden brachialität und rücksichtslosigkeit, ihren landsmännern WOLFPACK dabei nicht unähnlich, bolzen sie ihre songs so groovend (sofern man das bei einer bands dieses stilistischen ausrichtung so nennen kann) raus, dass man damit nicht zuletzt wegen der wuchtigen produktion seine nachbarn nicht mehr lange zum freund hat. Tritt arsch wie sau und ist genau die richtige musik für jene Momente, wo man mal wieder alles und jeden hasst. /Joachim - OX-MAGAZINE UNCURBED - A Nightmare In Daylight CD (Finn-Records 010) Crusty E.N.T.-style but better. Recorded in the famous Unisound Studios. Furious stuff with a metallic edge and two vocalists. Fuck Green Day, fuck Offspring - Hail Discharge!! Don't mess with Sweden... /Jari Juho - FINN RECORDS UNCURBED - Mental Disorder MCD (Lost & Found 094) Sweden's Uncurbed tread a fine line between being influenced by Discharge and ripping 'em off, but this nine-track opus still rips your spleen out! If you didn't have a mental disorder before hearing this, you soon will! /KERRANG - KKKK UNCURBED - The Strike Of Mankind CD [In german] (Lost & Found 061) Ursprünglich als Grindcore-Trio gestartet, sind UNCURBED heute ein sextett mit zwei leadsängern und können getrost als Schwedens antwort auf "Extreme Noise Terror" bezeichnet werden. Von der basis des klassischen Discharge-Hardcores ausgehend, legen UNCURBED tempotechnisch noch locker einen drauf, integrieren das eine oder andere break, folgen aber überwiegend der devise "Voll in die fresse". Auch textlich hauen die Nordländer in die Discharge-Kerbe, greifen also vor allem Kriegsthematiken auf, was nicht besonders viel originalität versprüht, aber zumindest das oberderbe cover halbwegs rechtfertigt. Drei viertel der songs sind von "Edge Of Sanity's" Dan Swanö mitproduziert, der dem Haufen den passenden rohen Sound besorgt hat. Die gnadenlose durchschlagskraft der simplen kompositionen ist schwer beeindruckend. Anhänger des klassischen Schweden-Cores und Discharge/Extreme Noise Terror-Fanatiker müssen zugreifen, alle anderen, die es sich mal richtig besorgen lassen wollen, sollten auf jeden Fall reinhören. /Jan Jaedike - ROCK HARD #77 (8,5 of 10)
