Colonel Driant

Colonel Driant is an true national hero in France and a lot is written about
him and his brave men,the Chasseurs ā Pied, when they faced the Germans.
In the books you can read how he and 1200 men held up the German 21.
Infanterie-Division for the first two days of the German attack against Verdun
in Februari 21-22,1916,in the wood "Bois de Caures",10 km from Verdun town.
