A sense of security is the most common issue in transit. Jack-O is a transformational light. On the wall it inductively charges and serves as an ambient light or as a directional reading when its reflector is flipped 180 degrees. As a lantern, Jack-O can be used for camping, reading, storytelling, eating. As a flashlight, it helps navigate through strange environments or down unfamiliar hallways. Jack-O's light slowly and subtly rises like the sunset in synchronization with its alarm.

The Jack-O story
A sense of security, or lack of, is the most common issue with people in transitional settings. Sleeping in strange places is often the cause of unrest. Navigating about unfamiliar dwellings produces feelings of anxiety, fear, helplessness. Since the beginning light has been a comforting source of security.
Jack-O is a transformational light. At home it lives on a wall, inductively charged while hanging from it's post. On the wall it can serve as an ambient light when it's reflector is inverted or as a directional reading light (possibly above a bed or chair) when it's reflector is flipped 180 degrees.
For travel, Jack-O serves as both a lantern and a flashlight, transforming once again, by simply inverting the reflector. As a lantern, Jack-O can be used for camping, reading, storytelling, eating, etc. As a flashlight, it helps one explore or navigate though strange environments or down unfamiliar hallways. In the morning, Jack-O's light slowly and subtly rises like the sunset in synchronization with it's alarm.
